A True Independent Film Crew Experience,
The 2018 AAHSFF Film Invitational!

The purpose of the Film Invitational is to provide an immersive, real-world experience for student filmmakers.

The 2018 Film Invitational has four separate competition options for student production teams. At the heart of all four competitions is the 10-week pre-production process, enabling your team to prepare and produce your best possible submission.

  • 1-day Edit Competition
  • 2-day Shoot and Edit: Claustrophobic Creativity
  • 2-day Broadcast Journalism: Feature Story Competition
  • 3-day The Complete Film Invitational Experience: Shoot & Edit

Teams will be accepted on a rolling basis as they apply. The final registration deadline is June 15th 2018. We suggest applying early if you have sincere interest as several competitions have limited availability.

***Application form can be found at the bottom of this page.***

How It Works:

The competition starts August 1st when your team receives the F.I. on-boarding packet. In this packet you will find all of the details, rules, prompts and release forms for the competition. During the 10-week pre-production phase each team will write their script, plan their shoot and secure locations and actors (with assistance from the AAHSFF Team). The competition culminates when each team comes to New York City to film, shoot and edit.

The Film Invitational Headquarters will be located at the Sheraton Times Square Hotel.
