AAHSFF is proud to announce a series of intimate workshops in partnership with New York City's largest educational and networking studio for professional actors, Actor's Connection. These diverse and relevant sessions take place on Saturday, October 12th just a few short blocks from the AMC Theater. This is your chance to be taught by the pros in a small, interactive setting. PARENTS AND STUDENTS are both welcome to join Actors Connection in this three hour seminar focused on the MUST-HAVE knowledge to become a working professional in today’s Professional Entertainment Community.  This seminar will cover trends in industry materials for actors (headshots, reels, clips, websites, mailings and more), marketing strategies, guidance for finding proper representation from Agents and Managers and more.

Colleen Finnegan Kahl is an experienced theatre arts educator, entrepreneur, consultant and community engagement leader.  Colleen has a well-rounded theatrical skillset having worked as a professional actress, stage manager, producer and educator in both the NYC and regional theatrical markets.   Colleen’s experience in creative placemaking and the development of a teen center and Youth Advisory Committee has led to her current board seat on the National Consortium for Creative Placemaking.

Prior to Actors Connection, Colleen built theatrical and creative arts programming for 15+ schools and community organizations thru her company, Enspirited Projects, which was nominated as a top 3 innovative company for work in arts education and self-esteem along the Jersey Shore.

Tony Nation is a partner in Actors Connection and Reproductions in New York City. His work with AC actors has led to thousands of actors getting auditions, booking work and finding representation with talent agencies in NY, Los Angeles and across the US. As an actor, his credits include THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL on Amazon Prime, BULL on CBS and you've probably heard his voice on commercials for Blue Buffalo, Mylanta, Encore Boston Harbor/Wynn Resorts, Kohl's and DC Lottery to name a few. You can also hear him singing on the cast album for FORBIDDEN BROADWAY 2001: A SPOOF ODYSSEY which won the Drama Desk for Best Musical Revue in 2001.

Curious about how to get started in voiceovers for animation, commercials, audio books or other projects?  Learn the basics in this one-day intensive where all students will have the opportunity to receive individualized feedback while recording in our voiceover booth.  Learn proper microphone technique and copy reading tricks to start your exploration into the exciting world of professional voiceover artists.

Paul Liberti currently teaches competitive classes in Los Angeles and NYC and Nationally for SAG/AFTRA Foundation in independently in Commercial VO, Audio Book Narration, Video Game Character work and Animation. He also teaches Accents for Actors - for Animation, Voice Actors, Film Actors, Broadway and London's West End Theater, and Regional Theater with recent shows like Disney's Frozen, USA Network - Falling Water, The National Theater's - One Night in Miami, Greater Tuna, Anastasia, My Fair Lady, Brigadoon.

Paul also teaches annually to graduating University students from across the nation - Memphis, Western Michigan University, Oakland University and many others.

Paul has booked hundreds of voiceover spots and animated series including Pokémon, Blue's Clues, Noggin's, Pinky Dinky Doo, Saturday Night Live Cartoons and Sesame Street. He is currently the voice of Curious George & the Man in the Yellow Hat www.curiousgeorge.com. He has narrated for Scholastic, Nickelodeon, Tavoli Entertainment and the Audie Award winning series Goosebumps by R.L Stine. Mr. Liberti has also performed on Broadway, Broadway tours as well as film and TV, including The Daily Show, SNL TV's Funhouse, Showtime's Cartoon President, PBS, Nickelodeon, Showtime and more.

You've written a pilot, a feature, a musical, a play now what? From producing Off Broadway to meeting with network executives in LA, award nominated filmmaker, director, producer and actress Jamie Monahan has learned some valuable information about the art of pitching.  Come learn the basics of getting your project out into the world in this ½ day workshop at Actors Connection.

Jamie Monahan is an award nominated filmmaker, director, producer and actress. She produced and directed ALMOST MAINE at The Shell Theater and produced SWINGTIME CANTEEN (Off Broadway) at Cherry Lane Theatre. Jamie produced and directed the award nominated short THE WISHING TREE, and assistant directed the award nominated short ANATOMY OF AN ORCHID. Last fall she produced and cast the proof of concept for ASTRAL, which was greenlit by Adaptive Studios, and Sundance New Voices Lab Finalist FLAT EARTH. Last summer she executive produced TRIAD, as well as produced BELOW THE BELT. She also executive produced, directed and stared in LUCID a new original sci-fi series that she wrote premièring in festivals this spring.

Accomplished Actor and Experienced Educator Lorrie Odom has helped hundreds of performers reach their next level as performers.  Work with her in this on-camera intensive to gain a greater understanding of on-camera basics, script analysis and creative character choices to build powerful on-camera performances.  Students must prepare a short 2 page scene from our sides library for this session. Access to sides will be given after registration.

Lorrie Odom is a Howard University graduate and has been an actress in NYC for the past 20 years. She is currently recurring on HULU's original series SHUT EYE, Season 2 opposite star Isabella Rossellini and can currently be seen on NETFLIX in the film KINGS opposite Oscar Winner Halle Berry.

Lorrie's upcoming Films Include: ISN'T IT ROMANTIC opposite Rebel Wilson, BUFFALOED opposite Zoey Deutch, and BODY CAM opposite Mary J. Blige.

Previous TV credits Include: FRIENDS FROM COLLEGE opposite Keegan-Michael Key, SCANDAL, QUEEN SUGAR, GOTHAM, MR.ROBOT, PERSON OF INTEREST, THE BLACKLIST, GIRLS, VEEP, LAW & ORDER: SVU, and HOMELAND.

Are you a Broadway fan dreaming of gracing those stages one day?  Empower your theatrical skillset with the warmth and expertise of Courtney Hammond from Wojcik/Seay Casting.  Courtney brings both the joy and specificity out of performers that help them build memorable and inspiring performances.  All students must prepare 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song for this session. Please bring carefully marked sheet music.

Courtney Hammond is the Casting Associate for Wojcik/Seay Casting.  Some notable credits and current projects from this office include: tour of Jesus Christ Superstar, West Side Story's Tokyo production, Kinky Boots National Tour as well as tours for Rent, Rock of Ages and Something Rotten.  In addition to those theatrical credits, this office also casts commercial, film and tv projects.
