Just like The High Line, our 2019 Challenge is FREE!

When:

Friday, October 11th 2019
6:00pm - 7:30pm

What:

NOT SURE IT’S CLEAR WHAT THEY HAVE TO DO?

Upon arrival (directions listed below) you will be greeted by a team of AAHSFF volunteers who will provide you with the official printed “challenge” itinerary. This document will include the competition rules and guidelines and detailed instructions for each required photo stop and theme. From there, it’s all up to you and your creative lens! AAHSFF Volunteers will also be available at several locations throughout the walk to share unique props, offer creative advice, answer questions, and of course, to simply say HELLO!

The theme of this year’s challenge is “JUXTAPOSITION: The NYC Experience, Where Micro Meets Macro” Just a little teaser to get your creativity flowing… Additional details and information will be made available upon arrival.

Where:

The competition will begin at the 14th Street passage of the New York City High Line. The High Line is a public park built on a historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan’s West Side. Saved from demolition by neighborhood residents and the City of New York, The High Line opened in 2009 as a hybrid public space where visitors experience nature, art, and design. The High Line is more than a park. It’s a public space where you can view art, walk through gardens, experience a performance, savor delicious food, or just connect with friends and neighbors—while enjoying a unique perspective of the city. Built on a historic, elevated freight line, the High Line has become a world-renowned inspiration for how cities can transform industrial infrastructure into beautiful, hybrid public spaces.
