Dear Teachers,

Is it your first time attending AAHSFF? Or maybe your 8th? Either way, we know you have questions and we’re here to help. Bringing a group of students to New York City can be a bit… intimidating. And so can navigating a busy festival schedule that takes place at several venues. That’s why we’ve created our FAQ and Teacher-focused Planning Guide that specifically addresses questions teachers often ask. We hope that this will help you when planning your festival experience. Of course, if you still have questions, you can email us at info@aahsff.com. Links to both the Teacher Event Planning Guide and our FAQ page can be found below.

Throughout the weekend you can expect a wide variety of activities that offer equal parts enrichment and entertainment. These activities are designed to provide you and your students with a platform to showcase your work and the resources you need to continue to develop your curriculum. You’ll get to see your students’ films on the big screen at the AMC Theaters in Times Square (the busiest movie theater in America), attend the nation’s largest film school college fair, explore the latest industry gear and software at our technology showcase, sit in on panels and workshops specifically addressing topics chosen by the students when they submit, and much, much more. Of course we also offer plenty of opportunities to have fun, including our newest event: the Opening Night Dinner Cruise on a private yacht sailing around the island of Manhattan, and Networking Events (including our Educator and Administrator Breakfast) where you can connect with colleagues to discuss video production education. And it all culminates with our Teen Indie Awards Show; a formal event with a 40’ Red Carpet, special celebrity guests and over $400,000 in prizes and scholarships. Thank you for your continued support of AAHSFF and we hope to see you in October!
